Accessibility
Lumenalis Consulting Ltd. aims to make lumenalis.com usable by people on a range of devices and assistive technologies, and builds the site to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as its target, consistent with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (O. Reg. 191/11). No third party has audited the site.
Measures used on the site
- The body text colour, Charcoal (#3D3D3D), on a white field returns a contrast ratio of about 10.9:1 against the WCAG AA threshold of 4.5:1.
- Standard semantic blocks, with ordered headings, lists, and descriptive link text, let assistive technology read the structure of each page and move through it by landmark.
- Text enlarges with the browser’s zoom controls without loss of content, and the layout adapts to the width of the device.
- Images that convey meaning carry descriptive alternative text.
Known limitations
- WordPress.com hosts the site, and elements the platform generates sit outside the firm’s direct control and may not fully conform.
- Some downloadable documents are not yet fully tagged for screen-reader navigation; Lumenalis provides the content of any document in another format on request.
