This statement sets out in plain language how Lumenalis Consulting Ltd. handles the personal details it receives through lumenalis.com; it follows the structure of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, and Ontario counsel has not yet reviewed it, so the operative wording follows that review.
Information you provide
When you contact Lumenalis, the firm receives what you choose to send, usually a name, an email address, a telephone number, an organisation, and a description of a project or property. Please do not send confidential, privileged, financial-account, or identity-document details through a general inquiry unless Lumenalis has asked for them through an appropriate channel.
How the information is used
Lumenalis uses what you send to answer the inquiry, to judge whether it can assist with the proposed engagement, to communicate with current and prospective clients, to keep business records, and to meet legal, insurance, accounting, and contractual requirements. The firm does not sell personal information.
Website, hosting, and service providers
WordPress.com hosts the site; its platform records technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring pages, sets the cookies it needs to operate and secure the site, and reports aggregate visitor statistics to Lumenalis. Google Workspace holds the firm’s email and documents. Lumenalis sets no advertising or marketing cookies and uses no analytics service beyond the hosting platform’s own statistics. These providers may store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where the laws of those places apply to it.
Retention, access, and correction
Lumenalis keeps inquiry correspondence and engagement records only for as long as their original purpose, and applicable business, legal, insurance, accounting, and contractual requirements, reasonably require. You may ask what personal information Lumenalis holds about you and ask for a correction, subject to applicable law and to any record-retention requirement that applies.
Cookies
The site uses the cookies the hosting platform needs for operation, security, and its visitor statistics. Lumenalis sets no optional analytics or marketing cookies, so the site shows no consent banner.
